Tuesday Chaingang

Note - This won't be a full-speed chainy whilst the evenings are dark

6:15pm @ the Hartwood Pub A6 Chorley

25+ miles of flat riding in a chaingang

Speed 18-22 mph average

This is our main training ride of the week. Its a tough ride but its nothing to be scared of. Our regular riders are friendly and if you have never ridden with us before feel free just to have a chat to them before the ride starts to get an idea of what you can expect.

The ride starts out by heading out through the back lanes towards Ulnes Walton its around there that the pace will pick up and everyone will start to push a little harder. We then make our way along North Road towards Tarleton before heading back through Mere Brow and past Martin Mere. Finally we head into Croston and back towards Euxton where the ride starts to wind down and everyone makes their separate ways home.

Wednesday Hills

6.15 PM @ the Bay Horse Pub Babylon Lane Anderton

20-25 Miles around the Rivington/Belmont area

Speed 16-18 mph average

Our hilly ride has only just started so it best to check our Facebook page to see who is riding. The route is made up on the day but you can expect hills such as Sheephouse Lane to Belmont, Anglezarke, Foxholes and even Winter Hill mast! The speed depends on who is out riding but we do expect riders to stop at the top of major climbs so others can catch up.

Thursday TT

A few of our members regularly ride the Southport CC evening time trials series from April to August. Please give us a shout if you want a training partner or a friendly face to accompany you.

Sunday Long Ride

8-9am @ the Hartwood Pub A6 Chorley

Usually 40-60 miles but we have been known to do the odd extra long one

Speed 15-18 Mph average depending on group and route

Our Sunday rides almost always take in the hills. It is a chance to use all that mid week training to full effect. The pace keeps steady throughout with usually some leg-stretching on the uphill bits. We normally head out into the Ribble Valley or over the West Pennine Moors over Summer and towards the Southport coastline during Winter. These rides are still very social and there is usually a cafe stop along the way, so feel free to turn up and talk to our riders if you are unsure about what to expect. Again our Facebook page is where you can find out who is riding. Rides get posted around Friday.
